A Bit About Me

I came back around to live in Middle

Tennessee by way of Massachusetts and

previously SE Tennessee from my hometown

of Tampa, FL.

 

I am an artist, a photographer, a writer, a voice

talent and an aspiring actor.

 

I have a certificate in Commercial Art, an Associate degree in Fine Arts and a Bachelors degree in Psychology. My education, experience, and interests are varied and I bring that layered perspective to my craft. I have trained with Edge Studio and Global Voice Acting Academy to combine my experience, passion, and vocal skills into a marketable creation. Outside of voice over, I am also exploring screen acting with a Meisner trained instructor.

 

Using my voice is not simply a means of speaking to others but a method of expression that cannot be contained. From the time I was a child, I could not let a day pass without using an accent or some random character voice, most often without thought or planning. Whether I am doing a dramatic vocal interpretation of street signs as I drive or imitating various voices I hear on the radio or those of innocent bystanders I happen to encounter or presenting the ingredients from the back of a shampoo bottle as if it were the State of the Union address, I must not oppress that inner whirlwind.

 

I was encouraged by some to let it out as they were entertained or at least slightly amused, and encouraged by some to give it a rest as they appreciated a bit more silence in their lives. Regardless, I never once thought I had a choice. I am sad that it has taken me this long to realize this passion for expression could actually be made into a career but excited that I eventually did realize it and that I am on the right path.

 

I have always enjoyed this quote “If, when you wake up in the morning, you can think of nothing but writing . . . then you are a writer.” ― Rainer Maria Rilke. I think the same can be said for whatever your passion may be. I can think of nothing but speaking life into the written word...
